The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) – Syria has announced new Syria landing fees under Article 225, introducing a revised tariff structure based on the Maximum Takeoff Weight (MTOW) of aircraft.
At First Aero Services, we continuously monitor regulatory changes and provide timely updates to help operators prepare accurate trip estimates and operate smoothly into Syria.
This guide explains the new tariff structure and provides practical landing cost examples for commonly operated aircraft.
New Syria Landing Fee Structure (Article 225)
The landing fee is calculated according to the aircraft’s Maximum Takeoff Weight (MTOW) as approved by the Civil Aviation Authority:
MTOW Category | Landing Fees |
Up to 40 tons | Flat fee: USD 175 |
41 – 100 tons | USD 5 per ton (or part thereof) of MTOW |
101 – 200 tons | USD 5.4 per ton (or part thereof) of MTOW |
201 – 300 tons | USD 7.6 per ton (or part thereof) of MTOW |
Above 300 tons | USD 8 per ton (or part thereof) of MTOW |
Important Notes:
Charges are calculated on the maximum certified MTOW, not the actual operating weight.
Any fraction of a ton is charged as a full ton.
These tariffs apply to civil aircraft operations at Syrian airports in accordance with the official CAA publication.
Why This Matters for Operators
Accurate landing fee calculations are essential for:
Trip cost estimation
Charter quotations
Budget planning
Contract pricing
Operational decision-making
Misestimating MTOW-based charges can significantly affect overall trip costs—especially for heavy aircraft categories.
